Experts are predicting El Nino this winter
Monday, August 17, 2009Multiple sources including the Associated Press and San Diego Union Tribune are forecasting for the 2009-10 winter season to be a wet one. The AP article written on July 9 reads,"El Nino is back".
A sign of a potential El Nino winter includes periodic warming of water in the tropical Pacific Ocean, which has increased 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit above normal in tested areas. NOAA's Climate Prediction Center also noted above normal water temperatures in other tropical regions. This slight increase in temperature can effect weather all over the world.
Researchers of NOAA admit El Nino effects can steer damaging winter storms to California, but is it probable? According to the UT, "the numbers say yes, but what do numbers know?". The UT goes on to say that because of an extremely dry decade, it is likely that California will receive a higher amount of rain this winter, even though 'mother nature probably doesn't carry a calculator'.

Downtown Home Show a Success
Monday, August 10, 2009
From July 31st-Aug 2nd, Patriot Roofing and Solar participated in the Home Show and Green San Diego Expo. It was held at the Downtown Convention Center and it brought in many homeowners. Our booth was extremely visual and allowed homeowners to get a feel for the type of company we are. Their interest was peaked with our displays of solar integrated panels, clay and concrete tiles, polyurethane shingles, gutters, and fire-resistent vents. Dr. Fix It of KCBQ AM featured our company on the air throughout the weekend which was an added bonus. Our experienced employees were there to answer any questions and set up appointments for homeowners interested in our free consultations. We look forward to participating in many more Home Shows to come. The next Home Show is in Del Mar from October 16- October 18. We'll see you there.
NOTE: If you can't wait for the next home show, call us at 888-749-7663 for a free consultation. You can even visit our showroom at the Home Ideas Center off Miramar Road next to Mor Furniture. Call for details.
